Adult Sunday School Classes
Pathways
An intergenerational class with ages from 6th grade through adults We
are studying Life Issues through the Bible (emphasis on managing real life
experiences through scripture). It is fast paced, dialogue oriented (not
lecture) and fun. We meet in the Senior High room ( 201). We do not begin the
class until 10 a.m., refreshments and coffee are available and we have
fellowship from 9:45 until class begins. Anyone who wants to join after the
Safe Harbor contemporary service ends is welcome. Bring your Bible!
Adult Bible-Wesleyan Class
This class is made up of older adults, married and single. They study the Methodist Adult Bible Lessons and are taught by Rev. Edwin House. Class sessions begin with hymn singing and the Wesleyan Class Morning Prayer. The class regularly contributes to missions and charities.
Branches
The Branches Class is made up of married and single middle-aged adults. This class rotates members of the class as their teachers. Their study is mostly Bible Study using United Methodist Curriculum. They have several parties or dinners per year and contribute to missions and charities.
Men's Bible Class
The Men's Bible Class is a fellowship of men that are a strong and dependable group who have donated time and money generously to University United Methodist Church. Their class discussions are lively and sometimes controversial. J.D. Morgan facilitates the lessons for this class.
Missions Class
The class focuses on local mission and outreach to make disciples for Christ. Activities will include mission activities outside the church building
during the 9:40 a.m. Sunday School hour. Larry Mason is the facilitator of this class.
The group meets near the coffee pot in the Safe Harbor Worship Center prior
going out.
Stonerollers
The Stonerollers is a class for women of all ages whose focus of study is the Bible. Alberta Salmons has been the teacher of this class since 1962. This class is organized to meet not only the intellectual needs, but also the spiritual needs, prayer life, and mission outreach needs of members of the class.
